Lesson 3 of 5 -
In today's lesson, I am covering consistency
and why it is absolutely critical for your child's success.
Of all the actions you will
take while potty training your son or daughter, nothing will be more important than being
consistent.
Consistency will give your child a good basis
and strong background to be guided by. When you are consistent,
your child
learns what is expected of them faster.
Additionally, consistency keeps the child from
learning any bad habits. As any parent knows, it is much easier to start a
new habit than it is to get rid of an old one.
If you are consistent you won't have to worry
about the bad habits your son or daughter might pick up.
When you are not
consistent, your child gets the message that it is ok. Make it
easy for your child and be consistent.
There is a whole chapter (ch. 7, pg. 46) in the book that goes
over consistency. This should give you a good indication how
important this particular topic is.
I would say the number one reason why potty
training takes some parents longer than others is lack of
consistency.
There are many areas that you want to be
consistent in that will affect your success in getting your child potty
trained. They include:
- Words used
- Bed time
- Waking time
- Nap time
- Activities
- Involvement
- School
- Life events
And that's just to name a few.
I cover many others in "Potty Training Made Easy, Simple & Fast." You can get more details
in chapter 7.
If there is one thing I
want to get across to you in
today's lesson is the need for you to be consistent. If you are not
consistent, don't even bother wasting your time. Nothing you do
will work.
I hate being so blunt, but I want you to
succeed, and to that you have to be told the truth.
Tomorrow's topic will be:
"Who's The Boss."
